Dan and Christy are focused on training and supporting emerging leaders and serving in ministry alongside Church of God congregations in the Netherlands, Italy, and throughout Europe and the Middle East, as well as assisting with refugee ministries in the Netherlands and the region. They are also helping create a platform for church planting and church support in the region.
Both Daniel and Christy love serving God’s kingdom by mentoring and encouraging people in their lives and ministry. As members of the Three Worlds Team, the Kihms are based in the Netherlands working with the diverse congregations in the Netherlands and emerging leaders throughout the region.
Daniel grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was actively involved in baseball, the Boy Scouts, and his church. Christy grew up in Albany, Indiana, in a fantastic youth group, playing basketball and soaking up everything she could about different cultures and countries.
They met at Anderson University, where Daniel earned degrees in Bible and religion, including an M.Div. and Christy earned degrees in secondary education (history and Spanish) and an MBA. Daniel was senior pastor at Maple Grove Church of God in Anderson, Indiana, for ten years, and Christy worked as an admissions counselor at their alma mater.
Daniel and Christy’s extensive experiences leading short-term missions trips overseas led them to pursue a calling to full-time cross-cultural ministry after Daniel met Kelley and Rhonda Philips in Berlin during an urban ministry course. As Daniel was realizing that God was refining his call to “mentor and encourage Christians and pastors into a deeper level of commitment,” the Kihms discovered that this new realization was exactly what was being requested by European churches. They are grateful and feel very lucky to be a part of the Three Worlds team and what God is doing in Europe and the Middle East.
